Jackson's First Haircut!

Saturday night my mom was getting ready to cut Alex's hair and I realized that Jackson's was way too long. So, we put him in the sink and cut his hair! He definitely was not happy about it, but luckily he stayed still. He looks so much better with it cut! I didn't take a very good after picture, but he just looks so handsome and grown up. I was a little sad to lose those long curls, but he just looks so adorable!

Thanksgiving Weekend!

Thanksgiving weekend was fantastic! I worked Wednesday night and then we headed down to Delta Thursday morning. (As a little side note, I was completely sleep deprived the entire weekend. I think I had about 9 hours of sleep in three days. I was definitely loopy by late Friday night. I apologize to my family who had to deal with my craziness!) We stopped in Nephi so I could shower and get ready and then made it to my grandma's just before dinner. The food was DELISH! I was a little disappointed with how quickly I got full! I wanted to just eat and eat, but I couldn't do it! After dinner we visited and played games. Then came pie, which for me was my mom's delicious banana cream, my personal favorite. While we were eating pie Jackson and Amelia had a little dance party. It was hilarious! Brandon played music and told Amelia to dance. She has some pretty sweet moves. After a few minutes Jackson joined in and was loving it. The whole day was just perfect and fittingly reminded me of all that I am thankful for. My greatest blessing in life is my family. I love them all to pieces and am so grateful for how close we are.
Black Friday was INSANE! My mom and cousin, Christie, convinced me that we needed to go shopping early. We usually don't get started until about 8. But, this year we left Delta at 3am (thus my lack of sleep). We hit Walmart first and got some good deals. I would share those deals, but that would ruin Christmas for some people who might be reading this :). I could not believe Walmart! At first I just stood in the midst of the crowd feeling shell-shocked! I didn't know where to go or what to do. Luckily my mom showed up and then we figured it out together. It was fun going early, but I am not sure if the deals were really worth it. I am still undecided about what time I will be going next year! Then we headed to Toys R Us, Target, and then South Towne Mall. My Aunt Bobbie, Aunt JoRae, and cousins Erin, Danielle, and Kellie, and sister Samantha met us at the mall. It was such a fun day. We shopped, shopped, then had lunch at Sampan (as usual), and then shopped some more! I am happy to say that I completed most of my Christmas shopping! I got some great deals and accomplished a lot so I will count that day as a victory!
Saturday was my birthday! I turned the big 2-5 this year. It was a pretty low key day, but I felt very loved! Alex and I were staying at my Aunt Bobbie's house and we were treated to a delicious breakfast. Then, all the girls headed to my Aunt JoRae's house for a bridal shower. It was definitely a good time. Then, we headed back to Aunt Bobbie's for the big game! When I came downstairs for the party they had birthday balloons and a cake (thanks grandma for the cake!). We had yummy appetizers and the best pizza (if you are ever in Delta stop by the Pizza House-so good!). The only sad part of the day was the outcome of the game. I really hated seeing Max Hall win. It was a fun game though and we had a blast watching it. The best part was that I convinced Samantha to become a Utah fan! So, next year we will have another person cheering with us!
Anyway, this was a really long post! I always get so excited for Thanksgiving weekend. It is such a fun time and I love being with all of my favorite people for an entire weekend!

New Moon Premier!

A couple of months ago my sisters requested that I take them to the New Moon premier. So, I got tickets and we went to the midnight showing! It was so much fun! We got to the theater a little before ten and very luckily they seated our theater first so we never had to wait in line! That was pretty sweet! The waiting in the theater was actually really fun. We played phase 10 and listened to music and laughed a lot! We all LOVED the movie. And although Jacob's body is rockin', I am still definitely team Edward. I am so lucky to have three sisters who I love so much. We always have so much fun together and I can't wait for June 30 when we will be attending the Eclipse premier!

Zoo Day

This is very, very late, but I still wanted to post about it. After our bout of sickness I was SO sick of my house. So, I decided to make a trip to the zoo. Kaitlin was lucky enough to miss school to come as well and it was so much fun having her with us! My sister-in-law and her girls were there as well. It was the most beautiful day! It even set a record for highest temperature in Salt Lake in the month of November. The animals were all out and active and it was just the best time. It definitely cured my cabin fever!

A Few Things. . .

I should be posting about our fun Halloween, but unfortunately that didn't happen. Alex and I both got sick with the dreaded swine flu and had to quarantine ourselves. I got strep first and then a couple of days later (on Halloween actually) found out I had the flu as well. Because of the combination I was pretty sick, but I am feeling a lot better now. Alex just had the flu (no strep) and honestly has felt pretty good. Luckily Jackson miraculously hasn't gotten sick and hopefully it will stay that way until I can get him vaccinated. So, instead of sharing fun Halloween pictures I will just tell you some fun Jackson updates!

*Jackson can officially walk! He has been able to for a couple of weeks now. He still crawls, but he is starting to walk more than crawl now.
*Jackson got four molars at the same time! Poor baby was pretty miserable for about a week. This brings his total to 12 teeth (does that seem like too many for a 13 month old? I think so :).
*He is getting even better at feeding himself. He has this little dish set from my Aunt Connie and the little fork is his favorite eating utensil
*He finally likes to watch a few shows! He has never really liked TV, but I can get him to watch Mickey Mouse and Tigger and Pooh while I at least clean my kitchen!

I guess that is all for now! Jackson is just growing and learning like crazy. We sure love this cute little munchkin!
