Tim McGraw!!!

I LOVE Tim McGraw and have never seen him in concert. Since I heard he was coming I have been trying to convince Alex we needed to go. Finally, the week of the concert Alex gave in! We had such a great time! The drive was a little crazy with traffic so we missed The Band Perry, but we did get to see Luke Bryan. I didn't think I knew who he was, but he was really good and I knew a lot of his songs. I about died when Tim came out! He has so many great songs. I loved every song he played (well, minus Indian Outlaw. I am just not a fan of that song!). He sounded really good live and was funny and entertaining. I am so happy that I finally got to see Tim live! Thanks Alex!

Petersen Family Campout 2011

We had our annual Petersen Family campout the last week of July. It was a most wonderful time as always! We were able to go down Thursday night. It was SO crazy getting ready to go. The couple days before were when my car broke down and I was stuck in Nephi! So, I had one day to get ready! It was really stressful, but so worth it! We ate delicious food, played lots of cards and mafia, relaxed, and just enjoyed each others company. Alex got to go four-wheeling, shooting, and hiking so he was a happy boy :) Jackson had so much fun! He loved being filthy dirty the whole time. Luckily lots of my cousins have kids his age so they just played and played. Saturday morning the first thing Jackson said when he woke up was, "Can I go play with my friend Easton?" I love seeing him have so much fun! Saturday night we had karaoke. Alex, Brandon, Carrie, and I sang Sweet Caroline. Alex and Brandon also did Lunch Lady Land per my Grandma's request and it was funny as ever. Sunday, the Mason family did our church service. My cousin Tyler had his baby boy blessed then two of my cousins, Bethany and Steven, spoke followed by my cousin Jeff. It was so spiritual. There is just something so special about having a church service in the mountains. It was such a wonderful time and I can't wait until next year!

Alex's 30th Birthday!

This post is two months late! I forgot to take any pictures of Alex's big birthday weekend, but I still thought I better post about it! Alex turned 30 in June. On his actual birthday I made a yummy steak dinner and homemade oreos-his favorite. He also got his presents on his actual birthday. Friday after his birthday we had a barbeque at Brandon's house. It was a lot of fun! A bunch of friends and some of my family came. We had a great time visiting and eating great food! My dad took Jackson home with him so Alex and I could have a weekend away. After the barbeque Alex and I headed to Park City! We got there pretty late (plus I was SO tired from working the night before and not sleeping), so we just went to bed. We got up the next morning and headed to the Park City ski resort. Alex got to go on the Alpine Slide, Alpine Coaster, and the zipline! He had never done the zipline and I made him do it :) He had a lot of fun! I sat the rides out since I am pregnant, but I just enjoyed the gorgeous weather, some Wimbledon on TV, and a snowcone :) Next we headed to the outlets for a bit. We didn't find too much, but it was still fun. We were pretty exhausted so we headed back to the hotel for a nap. When we woke up we took a bus to main street. Dine at the Summitt was going on. They close main street and have dinner tables going all the way down the street. It is pretty expensive to eat at those tables, so we just ate at Main Street Pizza and Noodle that had tables set up right next to the main table. There was live entertainment every few blocks too. The pizza was delicious and the atmosphere was just as great! We hung out on main street for a bit, then headed back to our hotel. A bit later we went to the movie. We saw Super 8-definitely not my favorite, but it was still fun. Then we headed to bed and went back home the next morning.
It was such a fun little trip! I have the best husband in the world and it was nice to spend some alone time with him! I am so grateful Alex was born 30 years ago so he could grow up and be all mine :)

24th of July

The 24th was a fun weekend spent in Delta. Friday night was the cousin party for my mom and aunts and uncles. So, my siblings and Patrick and I went to Pizza House for dinner and then watched a movie. It was a good time as always :) Saturday we went to the parade. Jackson got so much candy! I honestly did not help him at all and he got a huge bag full-in fact a month later we still have lots of candy left! After the parade we headed to our family reunion. We had lunch a played a bit of volleyball. That night we went to the rodeo. Jackson looked so cute in his cowboy getup. He was so excited for the rodeo! Unfortunately he started getting really wheezy and breathing really hard about an hour into it, so we had to leave early. After the rodeo we did fireworks at my grandma's house. It was a fun weekend up to this point! Sunday right as I got into Nephi my Jeep broke down. It couldn't get fixed until Tuesday so I was stuck in Nephi for a couple of unplanned days. Then on Monday Jackson was wheezy all day. I ended up having to take him to the hospital for a breathing treatment (his albuterol alone wasn't working) and now he has to take an inhaler every day! Poor guy! Luckily for all of our mishaps my dad was to the rescue! After working a night shift he stayed up to fix my Jeep. And when I had to take Jackson to the hospital my dad was working in the ER so he got to be our nurse! I had to take Jackson to the pediatrician the next week to follow up. When I told Jackson we were going to see Dr. Shakib (his pediatrician) he said, "No. I just like Grandpa Bob Doctor." What a funny kid. We are so lucky my dad was there for us!
