2010 Re-Cap

I wanted to do a recap of our 2010. As I was going back over all of my blog posts I realized we had a great year! We got to do some really fun things! So here you go!

January

We welcomed the new year at Brandon and Carrie's annual party. It was a good time as always!

I planned a craft day for my friend's from high school. It was a blast!

February

The Saints won the Super Bowl! My dad had a fantastic party! It was definitely a highlight of the year!

March

Jackson and I went to St. George with my mom, Kaitlin, and my Grandma. Kaitlin had a softball tournament. It rained most of the time, but we still had a blast!

April

We went to Delta for our annual Easter festivities. Jackson participated in his first Easter Egg Hunt and won a prize!

My poor baby boy got pneumonia! It was awful!

May

Kellsi graduated from high school! Now she lives with us while attending Salt Lake Community College. She is so much fun to have around! Jackson has fallen completely in love with her and tries to get as much of her attention as possible.

My sisters spent Memorial Day weekend at my house! We played at Boondocks and then ended up throwing a barbeque for our friends last minute.

June

Alex turned 29! and we celebrated by going up the canyon and making dinner and roasting marshmallows.

July

Jordan and Cindy got married! It was such a fun wedding! We danced and danced (I am a bit embarrassed about the wedding video, but the fun was well worth it :)

My mom, Kaitlin, Samantha and I went to Seattle! It was an amazing trip! We got to see the YANKEES and went to the ocean and to Forks.

August

August brought the annual family campout. Definitely one of my favorite family get togethers of the year. We had a blast as always. Jackson especially loved it this year. He was constantly covered in dirt!

September

My wonderful Grandpa turned 90 years old! We had a big party to celebrate and it was tons of fun!

Jackson turned 2 years old! I went overboard planning the party and it turned out just how I wanted it to! I just love this little boy!

October

We did a lot of fun Halloween activities including Gardner Village and the witches, painted pumpkins, carved pumpkins, went to Thriller, the annual bonfire, and Trick-or-Treating.

November

My Grandpa was honored at the University of Utah for being a World War II veteran and POW.

I turned 26! I got to spend the weekend Black Friday shopping, watching Utah beat BYU and spending time with my wonderful family!

December

I hosted my first Christmas party. It was a lot of fun and I already have ideas for next year!

Christmas was fantastic and Jackson was just so much fun this year!

As you can see, we had a fantastic year! I feel so blessed that we had such a great year. We were able to spend lots of time with family which is always so wonderful! I am excited to see where 2011 takes our little family!

The Week after Christmas

Last year Alex and I had the week after Christmas off so we spent it in Nephi. It was so much fun we decided to do it again! Alex's work shuts down that week and I only had to take one day off so we were able to. After our anniversary Alex dropped me off in Provo where I met my mom, sisters, Aunt Bobbie, and Kellie. We did a little shopping (I know we just had Christmas, but after Christmas sales are amazing!). Then we headed up to Salt Lake to watch Kaitlin play in a basketball tournament. It was a lot of fun watching her play.
Tuesday I went with my friend Mandee to Gracie Lou's, a really cute fabric store! We picked out some cute fabric so I could make a blanket. That night I think we just watched a movie. Poor Alex got sick Tuesday so his week wasn't all that great. He was supposed to go skiing, but he just felt too crappy!
Wednesday I went to Mandee's house and sewed! I got the majority of my quilt sewn. I still have to finish the border and have it quilted, but it is going to be cute!
Thursday we did some more shopping. Alex gave me a gift card to decorate our bedroom so my mom helped me pick stuff out. It is all so cute! I haven't finished decorating, but when I do I will post pics! That night we played Clue and Rook. I also got cupcakes from the Sweet Tooth Fairy for everyone. It was such a fun night! I won Clue (like always:) and took second in Rook.
Friday I had to work. We packed up and headed home. Alex and Jackson went to Brandon and Carrie's NYE party. He forgot to take pictures :( I am mostly sad I don't have any jumping pictures this year!
So, our holidays were amazing! I got to relax and spend time with the people I love most!
I didn't do so well on picture taking this week! The only time I took pics was while we were sewing!

7th Anniversary!

On December 26th Alex and I celebrated our 7th anniversary! It is pretty crazy to me we have been married that long! Our anniversary started with church where we both had to teach lessons. I worked the night before so I was exhausted! After church Alex dropped me off at the hotel (so I could take a nap) and dropped Jackson off with my mom. We stayed at the Hilton downtown. It was really nice and we got a really good deal on it! For dinner we went to The Last Samurai. It is a Japanese steakhouse where they cook in front of you. It was a lot of fun and delicious! For dessert we had some Baskin Robbins and then headed back to the hotel to soak in the hot tub. We had a jacuzzi in the room so we watched movies while soaking! It was so relaxing and fun! I am so blessed to be married to Alex! He is honestly the best husband and the most amazing dad. I love him and can't wait to see what the next seven years brings us!

Christmas!

We had a wonderful Christmas! Jackson met all my expectations and was so dang cute! It really make the holidays so much more fun and meaningful with a little one around. We stayed at my parent's house and got up at 5 am! I woke Jackson up and told him Santa left him some presents. He was pretty excited! When he saw his Cars garage he immediately started playing with it and pointing out the characters to me. Funny little guy!
We played a trick on Samantha. She REALLY, REALLY wanted a cell phone. In her christmas list she said she didn't want boots (I guess because that is what Kellsi wanted). So, my mom got some funny slipper boots and then we put the phone inside. When she said her small pile with just the boots and a batting glove she said, "Is this my stuff?" My mom told her yes. Then, after a minute I called the phone. She freaked out! It was so funny! She was pretty happy and surprised with her new phone!
Kellsi got some cute new boots and a new scarf, and Kaitlin got a mini laptop from Santa. Santa was pretty dang generous :)
Jordan and Cindy came over about 5:30 and we started opening presents. Jackson loved it at first, but he got tired of opening. He just wanted to play with all of the new toys! Towards the end he would say, "Mommy, you open it."  We were all very spoiled! Jackson got some trains, some more cars, a little dog, a new jacket, a car book, a bear sleeping bag, some Color Wonder books, three new movies, and I know more stuff I can't remember! Alex got a sit-on-top kayak! I surprised him and it was so much fun! He loved it and wanted to go right that minute. My mom got him a paddle. He also got some clothes and shoes and a ski pass. I got a Nook from my parents! It has the cutest cover ever too! I was so surprised and I love it! Jordan got me a cute scarf, some gloves, and slippers. Alex got me a gift card (that he made-he is so clever :) to decorate our bedroom, a gift card to Jamba Juice, some new lotion, and some sewing accesories. We were so spoiled!
After opening presents my parents made us a delicious breakfast. Then, I took a quick nap because I had to work that night. After my nap I got ready and we headed to Salt Lake to see Alex's family. We opened presents with Alex's family. Jackson got a fun set that he can build a racecar and motorcycle with. He surprisingly does pretty well with the motorized drill. Alex got a gift card to Home Depot and I got a gift card to Hobby Lobby from Devin! I am excited to use it. After presents we had a yummy turkey dinner. Then, I had to go to work. I was SO tired! It was one of the longest nights I have had in a while, but I made it! Alex stayed at his parent's house and they played some games.
We had a wonderful Christmas. My favorite thing about Christmas is just being with family. I am so thankful to my Savior for his life and example. I think that spending time with family is the perfect way to celebrate his birth!

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve is my favorite of all of our family parties! This year was just as fun as always! It was especially fun because we had a really big group! Most of my Aunt JoRae's family, all of my Aunt Bobbie's family, most of my Uncle Richard's family, my Aunt Chris and Uncle Royal and their son Nate's family, most of my family, my Aunt Val, and my grandparents were all there! I say this a lot, but I am so blessed to have such a wonderful family who has so much fun together!
We started the party with a gift passing game for the little kids. Jackson had just woken up from a nap so he was still kind of grumpy, but he ended up with a mini potato head that he loves! Next we played the newspaper game. I didn't do so well! I didn't win one present! Alex won one for us though. The next game was the dice game, Merry Christmas. I don't know why, but I love this game! We won a couple of times and I helped Patrick and Sam win two times in a row!
Santa Claus decided to make a stop at the party! Jackson was pretty excited, but he wouldn't sit on his lap. He just stood by him, jingled his bells, and gave him high five. When Santa asked what he wanted he said, "Presents!" He was pretty cute and did better than I expected.
After games and Santa we had a most delicious dinner! Aunt Chris requested we sing a Christmas song before we ate-I think it definitely added to the festivities. After dinner the kids dressed up and acted out the Nativity while Uncle Roger read from the bible. I always love this. It is so fun to see the kids. It is kind of chaotic, but so cute nonetheless! Jackson was a stinker and wouldn't be in it-maybe next year!

After the nativity we sang some more Christmas songs. Then the kids opened a present. I got Jackson some new pajamas and some dragon slippers. He loved them! As soon as he opened them he was trying to take off his shoes and was saying, "Put on! Put on!" and giving me his slippers. He looked pretty cute and wore those slippers for two days straight!
After the party we headed back to Nephi so Santa could find us to leave our presents :)

Festival of Lights and SNOW!

The week of Christmas I had to work Tuesday night. Then, Wednesday I attended my cousin Peggy's wedding luncheon. I wish I would have taken pictures! It was so much fun to be with my wonderful family and Peggy looked gorgeous! She married a really wonderful guy-he is an excellent addition to the family. After the luncheon, Jackson and I headed to Nephi. Thursday night, Kellsi, Kaitlin, Jackson, my mom, and I went to the Festival of Lights in Spanish Fork. It was a lot of fun. Jackson LOVED it! He was pretty sad when we left. His favorites were the big dragon and dinosaurs (of course :).

The last picture is of my dad on the snow pile in front of their house. Right before I went to Nephi they had a huge storm. In less than two days Nephi got 26 inches of snow! A bunch had melted by the time I got there, but there was still tons! Pretty crazy because at my house we didn't have any!
