Veteran's Day

Veteran's Day was really special for our family this year. My Grandpa, a WWII POW veteran, was honored at a ceremony at the University of Utah. He was a gunner and his plane was shot down. A German man and his son found him and turned him in. He was a prisoner of war for eleven months. He marched over 600 miles during this time. He is such an amazing man. I am sure he saw some terrible things, but he has never been angry or bitter about any of it. I was so proud of him as we watched him get his award. A lot of our family was there and I am sure it meant a lot to him. He was featured on channel 5 news that night. You can watch it here. I love my grandpa and am so thankful for all he has sacrificed for our country and for our family!
