Every year our friends have a Christmas party. I have been wanting to host it and Alyssa was nice enough to let me! My friends at work actually came up with the theme of a Whoville Christmas party. The party was a lot of fun and I had fun planning it!
Here are the invitations:
The inside was cute. It said:
Don’t be a Grinch this Holiday Season,
Not quite convinced? I’ll give you a reason:
A Whoville Christmas Party
Date: Saturday, December 11, 2010
Time: 6 pm
Place: Matesen Home
Come to the party where we will feast, feast, feast, feast!
On _______________________ (please bring) and the rarest roast beast.
Games will be played, so come ready to win,
Brush up on the trivia on your Grinchiest friend!
So, bring your Who-Self, Who-Daughter, Who-son
This Christmas Wholibration will be lots of fun!
We moved our couches out of our living room so we could fit everyone in the same area. Here are the decorations:
These are the place settings. Everyone had a place card. The red ones were for the girls and the guys had green Grinch ones.
Our menu was "roast beast," cheesy potatoes, salad, vegetable tray, homemade rolls, and corn. For dessert I made some cute cupcakes (that I didn't take a picture of!), and some delicious cheesecake brought by Tim.
Jackson eating his food (in my spot because he didn't want to sit in his own spot)
Milly chowing down :)
Alex and Eric getting some food
Eden and Brandon (with Tim ruining the picture :)
Little Seth (sadly I don't have a picture of his mom and dad! Alyssa- maybe you can send me one so I can add it :)
Tim, Landon, and AJ
After dinner we played a Grinch Trivia game. Most of the questions were from the book, but a few were from the movie. It turned out pretty fun!
Carrie and Tim squaring off
Milly taking pictures
Brent and Alex playing the game
Lindsey and Eden. Lindsey is apparently talking smack to Eden!
Cute little Asher After the game we watched How the Grinch Stole Christmas (the animated version) and then everyone just talked while the kids tore apart my house!
Jackson, Amelia, and Jason playing ball on the couches
The party was a lot of fun! I was so happy that most everyone we invited was able to come. We are so lucky to have such fun, great friends. Thanks everyone for coming and making it a great time!
