Alex and Mariah

This is a fun tag from Adaire. I love my hubby so now I can brag about him a little bit!
1. Where did you meet?
We met when I was 15 at my family reunion. NOw, before this sounds like I am married to my cousin let me clarify. Alex is best friends with my cousin and came with him to my reunion. I thought he was so cute, but he was just about to leave on a mission. When he and my cousin got home from their missions we planned a big group outing to a haunted house and Alex and I hit it off.

2. How long did you date before you were married?
We dated for about 14 months before we were married. We were only engaged for eight weeks which was pretty crazy!

3. How long have you been married?
It will be five years in December!

4. What does he do that surprises you?
Alex has been the best husband a pregnant woman could ask for! He waits on me when he is home, he rubs my feet after work, he worries and makes me take care of myself. I love that he is excited for our baby!

5. What is your favorite feature about him?
I love Alex's smile; not the smile that he does for pictures, but the smile he does when he thinks I am funny. It is kind of a crooked smile and I love it! I also love his hands. I know this sounds weird, but I notice guys hands. I like that his are strong and look manly!

6. What's your favorite quality about him?
Alex is really laid back. He doesn't get upset easily and thinks logically. He is also the most patient person I know!

7. Does he have a nickname for you?
When we were first dating we were making fun of one of my friends who always had dumb petnames for her boyfriend. We would jokingly call each other crazy names, but some of them have stuck. Lately he has been calling me Sugar a lot. He also sometimes calls me Mari (the "i" pronounced like eye).

8. What is his favorite color?
He likes blue and green

9. What's his favorite food?
He loves air popped popcorn. He eats it several times a week! He also loves meat and really doesn't understand vegetarians!

10. What's his favorite sport?
He really doesn't like to watch sports. If we watch them at all it is because I want to! He does like playing sports though. He loves softball and other athletic things like skiing and wakeboarding.

11. Who said I love you first?
He did. It was one of the few times that he has been romantic! We were camping in Fairview Canyon and were sitting by the fire that was about out and looking at the stars when he said it. I already knew he did, but it was the best to finally hear it!

12. When and where was your first kiss?
Not very romantic, but it was in the parking lot of University Mall after a double date with his friend Brent.

13. What's your favorite thing to do as a couple?
I love just being alone with Alex. He is so funny and makes me laugh. I absolutely love mornings when we don't have to go anywhere and we just lounge in bed and talk and laugh. Recently, every night before we go to bed Alex puts his hand on my belly to feel the baby move. He gets so excited and it makes me love him so much more!

14. Do you have any kids? How many?
We have our first baby due in just over three weeks!

15. What is a hidden talent that he has?
I don't really know if it is hidden, but he is a great singer. When he plays the guitar he sings a lot of silly songs, but when he sings for real he has a great voice.

27

17. What is his favorite type of music?
His favorite band is the Red Hot Chili Peppers. He also likes Pearl Jam and some country.

18. What do you admire most about him?
He honors his priesthood. It is so reassuring to have this power in my home. Whenever I have needed a blessing he really prepares for it and is more than willing to give me one. I know this will be even more important to me when our son needs a good example to follow.

19. Do you think he is going to read this?
No, he never reads the blog!
