We celebrated Pioneer Day in good ol' Hinckley, UT! It was a fun day as always! In the morning we went to the parade. It was pretty hot, but fun and luckily the parade is usually pretty short. Kaitlin and some other cousins were on the Service Drug float and threw tons of candy to us! My grandpa was also in the parade on a horse. He is 89 years old and riding a horse! Isn't he amazing! Unfortunately, my camera chose that moment not to work so I didn't get a picture.
That night we went to the rodeo. It was a lot of fun as well! Jackson loved watching the horses. He was seriously the best baby that night. After the rodeo we went to my Grandma's for fireworks. Then, a big group of my girl cousins went to the dance at the park. It was seriously a blast! I haven't been to a dance in forever and we really were rockin'! I had to leave early because I had a baby to feed and put to bed, but I had the best time while I was there!
The next day was my grandpa's family reunion. It was also a fun time. We had lunch and then a slide show about my grandpa and all of his siblings (there were ten kids in his family!). It was fun listening to stories about my great aunts and uncles that I hadn't heard before. After, we played some volleyball. I had my first kill ever and it was awesome!
That night we headed to Big Rock Candy Mountain for our annual family camp out! It is always one of the highlights of the summer and this year was no exception. All nine of my mom's siblings were there and most of my cousins and their families. It was a huge gathering and I had the best time. Saturday was setting up and a marshmallow roast. Sunday we had church. Wendy and Taylor (my cousin and her daughter) and it was really wonderful. Then we had lunch together and just visited all day. That night my grandpa shared some of his stories from World War II. It was really interesting and I love learning more about my grandpa. Later, we played Mafia. It was so much fun! It was mostly just the cousins close to my age and we had a blast! We played until after 1am! I am sure we were too noisy, but I laughed a lot and enjoyed myself thoroughly!
Monday we went floating down the river. Another group also went rafting down the river. I opted out of this because I definitely wasn't taking Jackson. We had dinner as a group that night and then sang songs around the campfire. Alex and Brandon performed their annual Lunch Lady Land and it was as delightful as ever. Then, Tuesday we packed up and headed home.
It was such a great weekend and I loved seeing my family! I was really able to reconnect with some of my cousins who I don't see very often. I am so blessed to come from such an amazing family who I actually enjoy being with!
*unfortunately I was a terrible photographer! I only got 2 or 3 pics from the camp out :(

sounds like you had lots of fun and got to meet up with cousins! :) I can't believe how big your little guy is getting! But of course they do that faster than we would like! :) Cute family!
You are like us, we didn't get hardly any pictures from the camp-out either. But it was a great time that was for sure.
Mariah you are always having such s great time!! Guess what...I was at that rodeo too. Shocker I know!! I wish that I would have run into you. Miss ya
Looks like you guys have been having a good time lately. Cute pics of Jackson at the zoo. I miss you already.
I think I will just copy that for my journal. You summed it up well, but I hardly saw you and I did miss out on Mafia!!!!
Fun pics! It is so weird that I missed the rodeo. It looked like lots of fun.
